Thank you for this beautiful and honest sharing of such a holy and tender moment. Our God is so kind in how he loves us and reminds us of that through our loving of others.
Thank you. My brother-in-law has just insisted that his wife (my sister) return home after a stay in hospital, even though they are both in their late 80's and her dementia is, we think, in its final stages. His care for her is inspiring, but worriesome. She barely talks and can't walk now, but still he cares for her.
Thank you so much for sharing this Jen. It brought back memories of my mother and her journey through dementia. I was blessed to have her live with me her last two years and while there were times I went to my room and cried and screamed into my pillow there were so many more times that we could laugh over things she could remember from her childhood and mine. God truly gave us both a special gift those two years which I will be forever grateful for. Blessings.
I found myself smiling through so much of this. Just beautiful!
Thank you, friend!
I love how you are loving her. Thank you for sharing this journey with us.
I hope stories like this can encourage others in this long, slow obedience!

The Lord is kind in all his works, Psalm 145. A truth ringing in my head for the last couple of months!

That sounds very difficult to navigate. I pray for God to give your family wisdom.

Thank you for this beautiful writing, Jen. Love at its holiest, remembering her for her, with the slow, merciful tenderness of God’s own love.
