I’m reading in Ezekiel and teaching through Habakkuk, so I can’t possibly miss the message that God is at work even in dark times—even when he answers my prayers with the very thing I don’t want. I wonder if I will ever make peace with the truth that deliverance may look like the Chaldean army and exile is actually rescue?

I’m reading through Genesis and the dysfunctional family dynamics in Jacob’s story is hitting me anew. I’m processing to later share on my Substack. I’ve been so moved realizing just how much God used such messy aweful circumstances for His purposes and the blessing of His people. I feel deeply grateful and hopeful in a new way!

I could not make headway for lots of reasons, but one of those reasons was surely my own cowardice. I had all the reasons not to try because I had Saul’s impeccable logic when I have needed Jonathan’s faith.”A very powerful reflection, and so hard to get to when our lives of hurry or worry seem to war against understanding.
