So good. Thank you Jen, for modeling responsiveness to life's "lifey"-ness in your season of life. It helps me see the way in my own.

Gee, this reminded me of my life years ago - minus the partner and kids :) Trying to balance life and work can be challenging when our parents get older and need our attention. I learned that disappointing others can be a heavy burden to carry. You can only do what you can do and the life that got in the way is yours and is equally as important as those you want to serve.

Thank you for reminding me that I cannot be everything to everyone. Your situation sounds a lot like mine at times, and when I process my frustration and get at its root, I realize that it is faith. God wants us to trust him more than he wants us to accomplish our tasks up to our high standards. So, all I can do is trust Him.

What an honest reflection of what goes on for us when life gets lifey. I appreciate your vulnerability as it helps to normalize my own innermost thoughts when overwhelm hits. Also, so impressed by these meetings and the organization. Ours are usually after dinner on Sundays, but just involve us both looking at calendars on our phones at the dinner table while our kids run around and try to distract us! 😂

I see you “lifey”! Competition between mutually exclusive good things is always stressful for me, especially when one of those things is a creative project.... Sheesh! Compromise is essential, and for me might actually be a stage on the way to honest surrender. Also, I need to read Capon. Thanks for this!

I don’t think there is any other form of life, especially for those of us with children.
